Movie in the Park TONIGHT:
Don't miss TONIGHT'S Movie in the Park - August 29, 2009 (Weather permitting):

Join us at the Huntsville Park Stage to watch the soon to be classic "Ever After - A Cinderella Story," starring Drew Barrymore and Anjelica Huston.   Showtime is dusk or about 9:00 PM on August 29th. If you have not seen this show (or even if you have watched it 30 times), then don't miss it.  It will make you laugh and even cry for those weak at heart.

Be sure to bring your blankets, lawn chairs, candy, popcorn and bug spray and be prepared to have a great time.  The Texas Pride Barbecue will likely stay open to accomodate the pre movie crowd, so be sure to try out the best (only) BBQ in Huntsville.

Also, be sure to try one of the World Famous Star Burgers at the Shooting Star prior to the show.

Those who attended the last few shows have had a great time.

More On Recycling - PLEASE RESPOND:
Huntsville Resident Canvassing The Town To Get Feedback...

Jenny Songer-Harris is very passionate about recycling and has volunteered to canvass the town to solicit input for a proposed recycling program.  We have received a very good response rate, but would like much more input.

Jenny has been recycling for years and has done considerable research on the subject, so she can also answer many of your questions.

The program would likely cost residents between $3 and $4 per month ($36-$48 per year).  For that, we would receive an extra can, similar in size to our existing trash can, and biweekly pickup.

PLEASE HELP TO MAKE JENNY'S JOB EASIER...  If you have not responded to our previous requests (and you are a resident or property owner within Huntsville Town boundaries), then please simply reply to this message and answer these simple questions:

How much are you willing to pay for this program?

   a)  Nothing - I absolutely do not want to recycle

   b)  $2/month

   c)  $4/month

   d)  $6/month

   e)  $8 or more per month

Would you be willing to participate in an "adopt-a-can" program by paying a bit more each month to help a neighbor who may be financially burdened by the extra $3 - $4?

   A)   Yes

   B)   No

Would you be willing to help Jenny in soliciting input from your neighbors/friends?

   A)   Yes

   B)    No

Thanks for your participation.  The more responses we get the less doors Jenny will have to knock on.

Probasco's Engine and Tractor show TODAY:
Don’t miss the annual swap meet and show August 28 - 29, 2009...

The show is an impressive display of tractors and engines from a bygone era.  Engine enthusiasts from all over the country visit the Probasco’s each year to show off their toys.

Shorty and Opal claim this will be the last show, but we are hoping we can pressure Gary to carry on the tradition of this fun event.

Huntsville Town Yard Sale, September 5, 2009:
We are asking everyone that’s been wanting to clean out that storage shed, barn, or house to participate from their own home....  A map will be created for all families that have a yard sale to hand out marking each site.

We will also put balloons on your mail box indicating locations.  This will be well advertised and will have a lot of buyers.  Please don’t miss your chance on Huntsville’s first annual Town Yard Sale.  If you want to participate and have your location listed on our map please call Dave and Michelle Robinson @ 745-0701 or Jim and Angel Truett @ 745-1280.  (All participants will be able to preview Friday night).

Dump To Be Closed On Wednesday Evenings:
Effective Immediately, the landfill will be closed on Wednesday evenings.  It will reopen on Wednesdays when the leaves begin to fall.  Typically only one or two users visit the dump on Wednesdays and it is not cost effective to remain open.  The landfill remains open Saturdays from 10 am until 2 PM. Please plan your dumping accordiingly.

That's All For Now - Have a nice week,
