Late last year, Svart katt released their second album, a monumental emotional storm that showcased a wider palette of their patented fast, intense and heart-wrenching punk. An album which, at the end of the year, was summed up as one of the best albums of 2022. Today, just in time for their gig at Stadsgårdsterminalen in Stockholm on May 5, they are releasing a new single called "23". A song about 10 years with a hole in the chest and the one who will always stay 23.

Svart katt is one of Sweden's best and most heartfelt punk bands. Few bands is so respected for their honesty, sincerity and rawness and the audience grows with every chord. Simple, short songs without excess but full of melodies and warm, nostalgic feelings. A song that is only a minute and a half long might be perceived as having only taken a minute and a half to record, but that is not so...
“We never try to do something just to fill in. If there is no purpose, we remove it, as we have always done. But if there is a purpose for a song to be long, then let it be long.”
Just as on the last album, the band recorded and produced themselves in the rehearsal room. When they started making demos, they realized that what was needed was to just keep going, by themselves.
