Hebrews 9:12 He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.

OUR GREAT HIGH PRIEST (4)

Those who are wisest often allow their actions to speak as a testimony to their greatness. They don't have to go around telling people how well they've done, because others can already see it. Satan walks about this world as a "roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." In addition to this he is constantly using temptations of word and action to make believers stumble. It's as if he is crying out for attention.

In contrast to Satan, Jesus doesn't need to boast about how great He is and the victory He has won, His actions already prove it. Jesus showed His greatness by offering Himself up for our sins, once for all. He didn't need the help of others because He allowed His own blood to be shed. And the end result is that we are secure in "an eternal redemption" through Christ.

Our faith in Jesus has confidence and substance because Jesus backed it up through actions. Therefore, through His death and resurrection our lives can be a mirror of how our Savior acted. We can, as James says, be "swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath" (James 1:19). And as John said, we can show love not only in word, but in action and in truth (1 John 3:18).

Jesus secured your salvation on the cross through action, not just word; now you can live for Him in the same manner.
