Learn How to Use Your Digital Camera

Summertime is a great time to take pictures with your digital camera. However, that wonderful photographic instrument in your hands has dials, buttons, menus, and wheels which can be very confusing. In this three hour course you will learn what they all mean and how to use them to make great digital images. You will also learn how to download, print and share your images and do basic image cataloging and editing with a free downloadable program. Bring your camera and user’s guide. Class size limited to 15.

Bill Raser, began taking pictures professionally in the early 1960s when he was a correspondent in London, Paris and Milan for Fairchild Publications newspapers. After nine years as a journalist/photographer he spent 33 years in marketing where he photographed, wrote and produced promotional audio visual slide shows (now known as videos). In 1995 he became co-owner/publisher and editor of the Amelia Islander Magazine where he switched to digital photography and took all the photos for the magazine. He sold the magazine but remains a contributing photographer. As a professional free-lance commercial photographer he does work for various clients on and off the island. He taught digital photography and image editing for eight years at The Center for Lifelong Learning at FSCJ—Nassau, and has taught classes at the Island Art Association Art Education Center (
www.islandart.org) for two years.
