TIME AND ETERNITY
As the weeks, months, and years go by, we have the illusion that time is long. But what is a decade or a century or a millennium compared to forever? It is a concept that we creatures of time cannot fully grasp.
Suffice it to say that heaven and hell do not end, and nothing on this earth is better than heaven, nor is there anything worse than hell. These facts should get our attention every day.
It is in time that God prepares people for eternity. He reaches out constantly to create and sustain faith through His Gospel in Word and Sacrament. He works in time because He is well aware of the impact of the Last Day and eternity.
Our eyes should be on eternity as well, ever looking for Jesus' promised return. It is the rescue for the godly and the punishment for the ungodly. Look ahead and make use of time in preparation for eternity.
