Ranger Report April 2006 Part 2

RANGER REPORT – April 26, 2006 (Uncle Ronkle’s Birthday)

“I think rhythm is the key to everything.  Rhythm in attitude, rhythm in tension, rhythm in execution, rhythm in consummation.  Rhythm, rhythm, rhythm-rhythm runs the whole swingin’ gig.”

-Lord Buckley

Drummer Tim Campbell is back and it’s like he never left.  Twice.

Los Manatees debuted at The Bluetone Café in Easton, PA last Saturday.  Easton is the last exit before New Jersey.  “T.C.” (our little drummer boy) went rup-a- pum- pum on his drum all night long.  We rocked so hard.  We shall return.

We are NOT playing at P.J.Whelihan’s on Thurs., May 4.  That show has been rescheduled.  Stay tuned.

We may or may not be playing at Riverfusion 2006 in Bethlehem, Pa on Sunday May 7.  The organizers have listed Los Manatees as playing but have yet to notify us.  Stay tuned.

Manatee friend Carrie (Whipple) McCarthy and her friends have been putting out a bird lover’s newsletter called “The Green Lane Loons”.  As the name implies it is based out of the Green Lane, PA area but their contributors are from all over.  To receive it via e-mail or get back issues contact Carrie at silertoez@comcast.net

Manatee photographer Ginger Weber has a sideline business baking these amazing 9-inch loaves of gourmet banana bread.  They come in four flavors:  plain, chocolate chip, walnut, chocolate chip walnut, and my own favorite-chocolate chip peanut butter.  You can e-mail Ginger at virgodw@netzero.net   Tell her Ranger Will sent ya!

Coming up on May 5 is our triumphant Cinco de Mayo return to the Sarah St. Grille in beautiful downtown Stroudsburg, PA.  Also a May 12 return to the legendary Sandtrap in Limerick, PA.  Don’t forget Mike’s graduation party on May 13 (featuring Roy Bell on pedal steel and Ted The Fiddler) and Kathy & Ken’s birthday parties on May 19 & 20 respectively.

Speaking of birthdays, as I mentioned earlier, today is Uncle Ronkle’s birthday.  He is the president of Ronkle Records as well as sometime Manatee soundman, lightman, and recording engineer.  Last night he and I were hard at work on the latest project, the One Life- Live Box Set.  Remain tuned.

Happy Birthday Everybody!
