MUSIC

This fall, old friends
Franklin and Ethan joined me for

a little
old-time
music

• At the Skinny Pancake,
a nice restaurant, we were
on the patio and drew a crowd,
had fun.

• the video's at The Whammy Bar,
the smallest joint in Vermont,
maybe anywhere.
Good, tho.

STORIES

video- 4 friends

Our website has a growing & changing selection of storytelling videos from different periods, employing a variety of approaches.

No matter how hard we try, video does not convey the strength of our storytelling as well as audio does. TV tends to make us flat and shallow and dinky.

But these are all watchable: everybody's clearly having fun, and things keep moving right along. Not a bad way to spend five or ten minutes...

News

Folklore Journal Publication

The upcoming issue of Voices, the Journal of the New York Folklore Society contains Tim's article, "Dead Man's Liver," describing a folktale collected from a middle-school student about 30 years ago, and explaining how to tell it.

It'll be online, too. We'll post the link when it's up.

Pet News

After a year of apartheid, the baby-gate separating dog domain from cat sanctuary is down!

We're heating the house with the living room stove, instead of the central furnace, gently herding our animals together into the warm area.

They are working things out. What a change from last winter, when Charley hid above the furnace for months on end, while Ivy woofed at the sounds of his footsteps on the ductwork.

Maybe they'll come to enjoy each other's company, sort of, even learn to play together, a little. Or maybe not. In any case, our next cat will truly be in Charley's debt.

Eye News

Leanne's retina was reattached a second time last week. This stuff has been going on for quite awhile, which is part of the reason we haven't been in touch so much, lately.

The procedure went well, she is fine. The worst part of the experience was driving around Cambridge, under the impression we were in Boston, trying to find the hotel before it got dark. That truly had a nightmarish aspect. But it only lasted an hour, and everything else was-- relatively-- easy.

We're well. Let us know how you're doing! We hope to see you in the upcoming year.

Love,

Tim & Leanne\

Our albums so far-- each of these is somebody's favorite, which one's yours?
