Happy June, my friends!
Many thanks to Donna Green (Tampa Florida) for new publicity photos! I wanted to put this one out there first b/c a picture says a thousand words and this shot pretty accurately describes how I'm feeling about re-emerging and seeing you in person again! With that said, please scroll down, b/c there are a bunch of places (near and far) that you will find me this summer!

How are you?
I know we're not all fans of summer...and i know that it's not even actually summer yet...but it is in my world! Hehe. And even if you're melting, and its too hot, and you've got alot weighing you down, just look up. The sky is blue and it's a new day. Focus on living, not staying alive. I promise that will shift your perspective. I love you. Now onto some business!

New Podcast Interviews

My Interview w/ Hip Hop Artist Sho Baraka
It's been an honor to host some of this season's podcast episodes of Art & Faith Converssations. My latest interview was with aclaimed hip hop artist Sho Baraka about his new book: He Saw That It Was Good: Reimagining Your Creative Life to Repair a Broken World. We talked about justice through the lens of 21st century cancel culture. From his childhood of being raised by Black Panther parents to his life as a successful hip hop artist struggling to reconcile his faith with his art, he shared compelling thoughts on what it can look like to live out faith and justice wholistically. I can't say enough great things about this book. [you can listen to our conversation here]

What Do We Do Now
If you can't tell by the title of the podcast, I talked with hosts Nate Zoob + Alan Olifsen about life before and after Covid. We chat about our existential crises, figuring what to do with ourselves, and what moving forward means as an artist. [listen here]

The Unstarving Artist
This title also says it all. I talked with host Robonzo about my music journey, upbringing, and the artist coaching I do through Cultivators! [listen here]

CULTIVATORS Artist Group Session - This Thursday

May's Zoom call is this Thursday! As always, Cultivators group sessions are a monthly call for artists and provide an opportunity to ask creative branding, booking, and fan-building questions among a group of fellow artists - mostly musicians and singer/songwriters. I started these early last year as a way to help creators think through the bigger picture of making and promoting their work. This is a free monthly video call and is capped at 8ppl. Registration Link is here!

No reflection this month...just a simple bit of truth...

“All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.”
– Winston Churchill

Thank you for reading. See you out there!
