* RECIPE – FRESH LAVENDER SYRUP*

Finally, some fresh herbs are sprouting!  Do you have fresh lavender in your garden?  We do, and making lavender syrup is a favorite spring time ritual.  It’s easy!  The aroma is calming and the flavor is surprising.  Grab your herb snippers or run to your grocers and pick out a handful or two.

Ingredients:
1 C Water
1 C Sugar
1 Bunch Fresh Lavendar

Instructions:
Bring water and sugar to a boil ensuring that sugar is dissolved.  Remove from heat and add lavendar.  Cover and let steep for 15 Minutes.  Strain mixture before use

This is a very versatile syrup as it goes great with Lemon Ricotta Blueberry Pancakes or as a glaze for fruit tarts.

STAFF UPDATES
We are pleased as punch to welcome Jeff, the newest member of our staff.  Jeff will typically be serving as an evening Innkeeper, though you will see him on days now and again.  Jeff brings a heaping helping of experience.  He owned and operated a Bed & Breakfast in Illinois, so he is no stranger to the hospitality industry.  He worked in sales in the food service business, and also owned and managed a cafe and catering company for nearly ten years.  He recently relocated to KC and is anxious to meet, greet and serve you!
