Hello Firstname
Wednesday 19 June
Next Wednesday is the "battle" between BPS and Newport Camera Club. This annual event sees the two clubs alternating as hosts and this year it's our turn. The judge will be Peter Weaver APAGB CPAGB LRPS from Hanham Photographic Society.
A traditional part of the evening is the buffet and we need members to bring along food for this; if you can bring along snacks to add to the feast it would be greatly appreciated. Sweet or savoury, it will all be welcome.

Amnesty!
Mike Bigger (BPS Librarian) has been doing a stock-take of the books in the club library and has discovered that the following books are missing:

Mike has promised me that he won't name names and won't publish a "list of shame" if you return one of the missing tomes; so please look on your bookshelf at home and see if there are any titles in your own personal library that shout OVERDUE and return them to Mike as soon as possible.

Photographic Society of America (PSA)
Many of you will know that, through the Bristol Salon, BPS is a member of the PSA. What you might not know is that they produce a regular magazine for members called, surprisingly, the PSA Journal. This journal is now available on line and can be downloaded from the PSA website by clicking here. You will need a log in and password which are (log in) member and (password) psa2011
Once you are into the PSA web page, you will be able to access many of the PSA facilities including a back-catalogue of the PSA Journal going back to 2007.

Help Required
Projected image presentations and competitions are projected at the clubrooms using a Canon projector with a wall mounted monitor being used as a clone of the main projector. The projector uses the image ratio of 4:3, however the monitor is wide screen and as a consequence stretches the images shown on it. Does anyone know how I can set the monitor to display in the same proportions as the projector, even if it shows a black band down each side of the screen?
If you can help, either email me at newsletter@bristolphoto.org.uk or speak to me at any Wednesday meeting.

Fancy A Bit Of Legal Jay-Walking?
Bristol is closing the streets in the old city to motor traffic on one Sunday per month  and opening them up to the people of Bristol, this month it will be 23 June. This is all part of Mayor George Ferguson's grand plan for the city and promises plenty of photographic opportunities with a full programme of street events and entertainment. For more details follow this link.
