Conserving and restoring native plant communities have been recognized as fundamental to the fight against climate change by institutions from the Washington Post to the National Academy of Sciences
Communities around the U.S. and around the world are creating and restoring locally adapted native plant communities to help purify water, manage floods, and protect them from severe storms.
There is a growing movement to plant local native plants to support pollinators and other native wildlife.
The problem of Plant Blindness is being increasingly recognized and confronted. See the Wall Street Journal for an example.
