Province of West Wales
July 2016 Update
|
Provincial Grand Lodge - Thursday 7th July 2016
|
We are fast approaching the Provincial Meeting in July. This is a very special occasion and one of the few occasions that the RW Provincial Grand Master/ME Grand Superintendent actually asks for your support. Please make a determined effort to attend if you can. There are still a few spaces left at the luncheon, but you will need to be quick. If necessary, you can download the booking form from the website here. |
|

|
After Provincial Meetings, the Provincial Grand Master will be attending a reception to be held at Hotel Mariners, Haverfordwest. As in previous years, this will be a very relaxed affair, where all are welcome (including ladies, friends and family), even if you haven't been at the meetings earlier in the day. The start time is when you can get there, but there will be a small free buffet served around 8.00pm.

Quarterly Communication - June 2016 |
At the Quarterly Communication Meeting of The United Grand Lodge of England on Wednesday 8th of June 2016, The Pro Grand Master gave a special mention to the Companions of Dinbych Chapter in Tenby. You can read the full address here, and a short extract below.
"Brethren, I should probably warn you that I have developed a liking for
visiting lodges and chapters unannounced. Whether the lodge or chapter
has enjoyed it, I don’t know, but they have been kind enough to say that
they have."
|
|

|
"A chapter that I went to in West Wales recently, performed
an excellent
installation ceremony and I heard at least 3 pieces of
ritual that I
had not come across before and all were delivered without
hesitation – I
should, of course add that I had no idea whether it was
correct or
not! Above all brethren, it seemed to me that they – yes
you’ve guessed
it – thoroughly enjoyed themselves." |
Peter Drewett Installation Meeting
|
Saturday 18th June 2016 marked the 25th birthday of the Peter Drewett Daylight Lodge of Progress and what better way to mark the occasion than for the Provincial Grand Master RW Bro Stephen Hookey to retain the gavel when it was proffered and conduct the whole Installation Ceremony himself! The idea came from Past PrGM RW Bro Eric Mock, the lodge secretary and RW Bro Stephen was happy to oblige. |
|

|
RW Bro Stephen gave a faultless performance of the Installation Ceremony, which included him "changing hats" and doing the Address to the Master himself and, much to everyone's amusement, commanding the Provincial Wardens to deliver their addresses too! The meeting was followed by a fine banquet at the Nant y Ffin Motel in Llandissilio. Many congratulations to the new WM of Peter Drewett Lodge, W Bro Robert Harries, a great day was had by all! |
