Dear classic car enthusiast,
In the last weeks our garages have been focussed on several European classic car shows. Our garages were present at the 41st Antwerp Classic Salon, the Paris RetroMobile, the Essen Techno Classica and on the Dutch British Cars & Lifestyle show. In the same period we were dealing with persistent winter weather bringing us snow and icy polar winds. Fortunately the spring has arrived in our region and the time has come to enjoy our classic cars on the open road again!
Since you received our previous newsletter three classic cars for sale have been tested and photographed at Altena Classic Service and the progress of four restoration projects were recorded and updated at Amicale Facel Holland and at Classic Job. In the meantime, yours truly has been busy creating a new, ClassicarGarage related, initiative: the Classentials.com webshop! Below you can read more about this new webshop which will go live in the course of April.

DODGE CHARGER RESTORATION AT CLASSIC JOB

This impressive Dodge Charger is being restored to top condition by Classic Job. The project is currentley in the sheet metal phase. The paint was removed in a special bathing process. The renewal of some bad sheet metal parts has started. Now you can see how badly rusted some parts can be under the surface. View the photo report.

MG MGA Twin-Cam roadster, year 1958. Colour Old English White with a red leather interior and black carpet. This rare and fabulous MGA Twin-Cam roadster has a wonderful Belgian / Dutch history, read more about this on the website. The car was fully restored and overhauled in the mid-1980s and a photo report of the restoration is present. This MG MGA Twin-Cam is still in excellent condition and the driving experience is truly fantastic! Over the years some parts were up-rated: A Bell racing-exhaust was fitted, Jaguar Mk II (Dunlop) brake callipers with ‘green-stuff’ brake pads were fitted at the front, the electrical system was modified to AC-current and the car was given electronic ignition. The car comes complete with a lot of history, original owner’s manual, workshop manual, brochures etcetera! This is a very desirable MGA Twin-Cam in excellent condition!

| MERCEDES-BENZ 230 SL 'PAGODE', 1967 | |

Mercedes-Benz 230 SL ‘Pagode’, year 1967. Colour dark blue with a tan (dark beige/ light brown) leather interior and beige carpet. This gorgeous Mercedes-Benz 230 SL was imported from the USA by Altena Classic Service in the 1990’s (photos present). Then the car was fully stripped and restored. The bodywork was given new paint and the mechanicals were overhauled. A photo reportage and all the invoices of the works are present! In the year 1996 the car was sold to the current owner who has cherished the ‘Pagode’ for 22 years! The car is in very good condition with slight signs of use and the car drives perfectly! The straight-six engine is a sheer delight and the automatic gearbox shifts superbly. The car comes complete with all the original books in the original plastic folder. Owner’s manual, Kundendienstheft, catalogue and the Blaupunkt book which belongs to the originally installed radio! This is a Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Pagode in a beautiful colour combination!

Mercedes-Benz 500 SL (R107), year 1983. Colour anthracite (dark grey) metallic with a black leather interior and black carpet. Black soft-top and original hard-top in body-colour! This impressive Mercedes 500 SL was sold new in Germany, the car was imported to the Netherlands in the year 1992. In the Netherlands the car has known only two owners in 26 years. Now this fine Mercedes-Benz has driven 198.000 kilometres and the car still feels like it has left the factory only a few years ago! This 500 SL is in a very good original condition with slight signs of use. A car which you can enjoy to the fullest! The Mercedes shows all the original details, wheels, steering wheel and Becker radio included. The V8 engine is a fantastic machine, powerful, smooth, and it sounds magnificent! The automatic 4-speed gearbox is also a delight; it is very responsive and comfortable, it adapts perfectly to your mood. This is a very good example of the highly desirable 1980’s 500 SL!
