Wednesday 9 October

Next week our speaker is Alastair Cullin from Bourton-on-the-Water. Alastair Currill Photography's journey began during lockdown when Alastair creatively turned his passion for photography into a business by selling jigsaw puzzles featuring his stunning landscape images. This initiative not only helped sustain his craft through challenging times but also marked the start of a flourishing career. Today, Alastair continues to expand his photographic expertise, offering diverse workshops, photoshoots, and mentoring while remaining true to his artistic roots. His unique approach to capturing beauty and detail has made him a trusted name in the photography community.

DI Group - No October Meeting
Please note that DIG will be taking a short break in October and returning on a bi-monthly basis starting with a new even more relaxed feel in December including mince pies!  Watch out for more details in the newsletter.

On the alternate months there will be more practical sessions, starting In November with a Mount Cutting demonstration and other print related information, please look out in the newsletter for more details.  If you have any subjects you would like to see covered or things you struggle with then please drop a line to dig@bristolphoto.org.uk and we will try to incorporate them into these evenings if possible.

Last month we were privileged to view and share some brilliant images, styles and projects from Mick Jupp, Tim Barker, Sian Jones, Derwood Pamphilon, Steve Field and an AV presentation by Jeff Hargreaves.  Many thanks to all last month’s contributors for such an enjoyable and different evening.  See below a taste of what we enjoyed.

UPDATE - Projected Image Competition 2024-25 Round 1
Last week we published the results of Round 1 of the Projected Image Competition. Unfortunately an error occurred when an entry was mistakenly uploaded to the Intermediate class, rather than the Advanced class. This resulted in a wrongly given award and has necessitated both the judge and Rob Stephenson going through the whole lot again to ensure all the awards were correct. Below is the final, definitive correct version of the results for Round 1, which also includes a Club HC that I missed!

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
Salon acceptances: Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.

Marketplace
If you have any photographic items for sale, drop me a line and I'll include it in the next newsletter. Please make sure that you provide contact details, price and full description of the sale items (pictures always help).

IMPORTANT: Personal Detail Changes
Please don't forget that if you change your address (home or email), or gain additional photographic distinctions, it would be appreciated if you could let the Membership Secretary know so that she can keep her records up to date, this will also ensure that you continue to receive your newsletters - please email all changes to membership@bristolphoto.org.uk.

The distinctions we have on record are those shown at the top of this newsletter, please remember, if you don't tell us we can't possibly know!
