Courage at the NAD Year End Meeting
by Richard Myers

When the North American Division leaders met at their Year End Meeting, we were blessed to see that
His courage will stand on record in the church and in heaven
among the NAD leaders, there was at least one who will stand up and speak the truth. For many years now, there has been rebellion taking place in the North American Division. Finally there is one who, like Nicodemus, stood up and publicly spoke the truth, no matter what his fellow leaders might think. Attempts were made to make of no effect his words, but his courage will stand on record in the church and in heaven. May God continue to bless this young man, Daniel Cho. May he be an encouragement to other leaders in this rebellious division, and in the world church.     Daniel Cho Resolution

While the NAD has neglected their responsibility to deal with the rebellion, it remains with them to deal with the unions and conferences that are not following their bylaws and the General Conference in Session
This is dereliction of duty
vote to not ordain women pastors. When the division does not deal with non-compliance in its unions then the General Conference Executive Committee has to get involved. In our present situation this is dereliction of duty on the part of the North American Division's leadership, for they have not done so. In fact, they have been leading the rebellion.

What was the response from the NAD leaders to the motion made by Daniel Cho? They were startled by the courage of this young man. When a time of prayer was called for, a few leaders took advantage of the time, not to pray, but to plan a strategy to meet this "crisis." The GC's treasurer, Juan Prestol-Puesân, was given the task of setting aside young Daniel's resolution. He presented a message which attempted to relieve the responsibility of the division leadership to deal with the insubordination of union leaders in the rebellion. After presenting a confusing message, he made a motion to table the resolution offered by  Daniel Cho. His reasoning evades logic. As the elected treasurer of the General Conference, ought he not understand the church structure? Especially in light of the recent study into the matter.

He said this is not an issue that belongs at the GC, but at the world church. First, the GC is the world church. Secondly, Daniel's resolution was not asking for the the GC to deal with the problem, but for the Executive Committee of the NAD to take action. I think the treasurer was a little mixed up as he attempted to turn the issue away from those who are leading the rebellion. As for continuing to dump the rebellion in the lap of the World Church as Prestol-Puesân suggested, has been done for the last 27 years and the World Church has spoken. The GC Executive Committee has spoken. It is the North American Division that has not spoken. Daniel Cho's resolution was finally a voice speaking the truth. Deal with the rebellion in your ranks, Mr. Jackson. While you slumber Rome is burning.

It is true that at a past GC Annual Councils the Executive Committee voted to deal with the situation since the NAD has not. That does not mean it is not the NAD's responsibility to deal with non compliant unions in their division. Because the executive leadership of the division has been a part of the rebellion, the General Conference, either its Executive Committee, or in Session, must deal with its responsibility, which is the division leadership. This is here the issue must be resolved first. Then the churches in the world will know their vote has been respected.

Juan Prestol-Puesân, treasurer of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, said the motion to deal with the rebellion in the NAD "is not necessary." Why not? He was stating the NAD need not do anything about the rebellion. This is contrary to the rules the church works under. They indeed are responsible, common sense requires that in any organization, leadership is directly responsible for those under its authority. The bylaws of the division and unions make it clear where authority and responsibilty are placed.

The GC treasurer is not reading his script which is found in the GC Working Policy which states it belongs primarily to the division to deal with the non-compliant unions. Why is he speaking as if he does not know the rules which govern the church? Is he abidicating his position as a leader in in the world church, to support the division from which he came? If so, then measures need to be taken to correct his thinking and his loyalty to the world church and God. Prestol Puesan Oratory

The influence of Juan Prestol-Puesân, treasurer of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and Daniel Jackson,
The rebellion is not restricted to the unions
the president of the NAD, led 186 leaders in North America to quash a young man's attempt to do what is right. They cut off discussion on the motion and set before the world a misrepresentation of our Lord. and His church. Who does not understand the General Conference Executive Committee is attempting to deal with rebellion in the NAD that the NAD has refused to deal with? Danial Cho expressed the truth that the rebellion of the unions is a North American Division problem. If the truth were to be spoken, the rebellion is not restricted to the unions, but is being led by the North American Division.

This was clearly revealed when in 2011 at the division's Year End Meeting the executive committee voted to change their bylaws in  such a manner that would allow a woman to be a conference president. That vote
186 NAD leaders voted in favor of not doing anything
was similar to the vote just taken to quash Daniel Cho's motion. Under the leadership of Daniel Jackson, the NAD voted to allow women to be conference presidents in direct opposition to the General Conference Constitution and the GC Annual Council denial of their request for a variance. According to the General Conference Office of General Counsel, the vote numbered 162 in favor of rebellion and 61 against. It appears the number of North American Division leaders participating in the rebellion has increased in the last six years. The vote to quash the motion of Daniel Cho passed when 186 NAD leaders voted in favor of not doing anything. That is an increase of 24 leaders in the NAD who now are working against the truth. The number of faithful NAD leaders standing with Daniel Cho on the side of truth and the World Church? Twenty five.  2011 Year End Rebellion

Many church leaders in Western Europe, North America, and Australia who reject the Biblical truth regarding the role distinction between men and women, are also rejecting simple truth when refusing to follow church law. We do not need to go into detail in how many have perverted the resolution at San Antonio, or have perverted the Seventh-day Adventist Constitution and their bylaws by saying the unions have the authority to ordain whom ever they like, including women. There is no logic in their thinking any more than their was logic being used when the Sanhedrin condemned Christ. Satan twists the truth to suit his cause. So it is today.

Elder Wilson took time at the Annual Council when the Non-compliance Document was being discussed to explain that the church has a problem that it has not dealt with. Simply, he said, when the General Conference in Session votes something into church law, and it is not complied with, we have a problem.
Elder Wilson Explains (5:08 mark)

There are those in high places in the church who will not follow the decision made by the World Church
It is that simple. There are those in high places in the church who will not follow the decision made by the World Church when in session. Putting off dealing with those in rebellion will not make the problem go away. Right now, as the rebellion extends, it gives those seeking Christ and His truth an opportunity to see who it is that is teaching truth.

While it seems this rebellion is a very real problem, and it is, there is a great blessing to come at the same time. When one is not abiding in Christ, there is no Spiritual discernment. If we think that ordaining women is the only doctrinal heresy the rebels cherish, we are mistaken. There are many heresies that these same leaders hold to. Thus, the consecrated church member, and leader, have an open look to see who it is that is walking in the light of God's love and grace, and who is not

When we find those adhering to the truth, then let us stand with them. Let us press together that the world and the church will see a reflection of Christ in His church. This is why we are still here. Jesus is waiting until He sees His character reflected in His people.

The gospel is to be presented, not as a lifeless theory, but as a living force to change the life. God desires that the receivers of His grace shall be witnesses to its power. Those whose course has been most offensive to Him He freely accepts; when they repent, He imparts to them His divine Spirit, places them in the highest positions of trust, and sends them forth into the camp of the disloyal to proclaim His boundless mercy. He would have His servants bear testimony to the fact that through His grace men may possess Christlikeness of character, and may rejoice in the assurance of His great love. He would have us bear testimony to the fact that He cannot be satisfied until the human race are reclaimed and reinstated in their holy privileges as His sons and daughters.

In Christ is the tenderness of the shepherd, the affection of the parent, and the matchless grace of the compassionate Saviour. His blessings He presents in the most alluring terms. He is not content merely to announce these blessings; He presents them in the most attractive way, to excite a desire to possess them. So His servants are to present the riches of the glory of the unspeakable Gift. The wonderful love of Christ will melt and subdue hearts, when the mere reiteration of doctrines would accomplish nothing.... Christ is sitting for His portrait in every disciple. Every one God has predestinated to be “conformed to the image of his Son” ( Romans 8:29). In every one Christ’s long-suffering love, His holiness, meekness, mercy, and truth are to be manifested to the world.  The Desire of Ages, pgs 826, 827.

It will happen! It is a promise to His Laodicean Church, modern day "Israel."

"The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,  And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.  And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.  Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.  Thus saith the Lord GOD
The breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army
unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:  And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.  So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.  And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.  Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.  Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel..." Ezekiel 37:1-11.
