Hello Firstname

Wednesday 25 March
Next Wednesday we have the annual Bristol Salon presentation. The Salon is the largest exhibition of its type in the UK, attracting some 12,000 images from 69 countries across the globe. The show is in the form of an AV with about 1/3 of the accepted images being set to music. This is your chance to see a selection of the best images in the world on your own doorstep.

Projected Image Competition - Round 4
Last week we had the final round of this year's Projected Image Competition which was judged by Colin Harrison FRPS FIPF FBPE MFIAP MPAGB EFIAP/g PPSA (prizes for the highest score you can get from that little lot on a Scrabble board!). The results are shown below, together with the final League positions. Well done to Val Duncan and Richard Kay who were overall winners in the Open and Intermediate sections (respectively):

WCPF 2015 AV Competition
WCPF AV 2015 Audio Visual Competition is being held on Saturday 11th April 2015, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (approx.) at Clyst St Mary (Village Hall) near Exeter EX5 1BG. Full details can be found here.

Competition to Enter
Dursley based camera shop, Clifton Cameras, are running a year-long photo competition based on the theme of street photography. There are some nice cameras up for grabs as prizes and a trip to Paris for the overall winner, so if you're interested, please click on this link.
They will also be organising a "Streetwalk" around Bristol in July with Liverpool based events and street photographer Matt Hart.

PAGB - GB Cup
Last week I reported on the PAGB GB Cup and stated that BPS had been placed 27th in the Open Section. I got this totally wrong; we did in fact come 11th, a much more respectable place.

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
In the recent inaugural Avon Valley International Salon, Val Duncan did particularly well gaining a PSA Gold Medal, a couple of HMs and the FIAP Blue Pin. This last award is presented the entrant with the most acceptances in the salon and Val had 12 - well done you!
I haven't had a chance to check other BPS successes in the exhibition, but if you'd like to let me know if you did well, email me and I'll report them here.

If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
