"Kat Bytes"
the monthly newsletter of StudioKat Designs
Issue #168 -July 2019 |
So...
the big news is that our family has expanded since last we "talked". It's a story you can read about HERE, but suffice it to say that the little cutie you see in the picture to the right is the newest addition to the StudioKat Designs family! You'll be hearing more about her in the coming months, but in the meantime, I'll leave you to get started on this newsletter while I go play with my new distraction!

Let’s kick it off with this beauty by Diane Rhodes who
normally favors the jewel-tones when she creates a bag exteriors. This Sling Along reminds me of summer though, and LOVE it!
Karen Emi said that she feared this Sling Along would be a difficult make, but was pleased to find out that it
wasn’t! She added that she’ll definitely be making more! Great
job Karen!
Debra Harrower says that she “finally” made her 1st Boho Baguette but will be giving it away since its to be a gift! Next up on her agenda? The Sling Along!
And another month means yet another incredible Sling Along by Don Distler. He fashioned this bag with leather and twill and as you can see here, he has a satisfied client!
This is also Shannon Gale‘s very 1st Sling Along, but she enjoyed the process so much that she can’t wait to make another!
Vickie Servais said that this Everyday Attache was her 1st StudioKat bag and she’s really happy with how it turned out.
Perhaps inspired by Celia Anne Oliver?… here’s Linda Bott‘s amazing Bellagio Bag which she created in Harris tweed! I love the color scheme!
And this vision in Tula Pink was created by Joy Carr. Her fussy-cutting in this Sling Along was excellent and I love the pull on her purple zipper!
Debbie Harris created this unique Go-Go Compact for her sister. Debbie said she learned a lot during the process and her bag is as cute as a button!
And last but not least, Peta Lawes added a few features to her Bellagio Bag & her fabric source was actually a sari which I’m thinking must have
been a little difficult to work with!

Facebook’s still growing in popularity every year. In fact, it now has almost as many users as there are people living in China!
You’d think such a popular program would be well-loved, but it still has quite the reputation problem , mostly stemming from its apparent lack of respect for individual privacy.

We're Retiring Our Gadabout Pattern!
Wow! It sure doesn't feel like it's been thirteen years since we released the this pattern, but today we're sending the Gadabout pattern into retirement.
I
still love this bag but I created it before some of the more modern ecutrements that we now carry on our website, such as sew-in invisible magnetic snaps and our line of purse zippers which are wider that the ones typically used in clothing.
So...
we're sending this cutie to the retirement home but if you would still
like the chance to pick up a copy of this or any of our other retired patterns(at half-price), just click HERE!
There's only a limited quantity of these patterns available & when they're gone.... they're GONE.
Please Note- we no longer provide technical support for our retired patterns.
