"Eye Candy Showcase" for April 2023
It’s time for your monthly treat for the eyes & this month's selection of bags is truly amazing.
ALL of the bags pictured below have been shared recently on

And with this gorgeous Gateway, Deb Piereman has announced that's she's proudly back in "bag-making" mode!

Virginia Compton created this stunning Packlet to house her camping toiletries declaring it to be the "perfect size"! She says she plans to make a 2nd Packlet to accommodate her medical stuff!

Adriana Carter said she was so nervous about cutting up her "Crazy Cat" panel from Laurel Burch but she LOVES the result!
She added a bit of batting & did a little free-motion quilting with silver thread for a totally awesome Flaptastic

Lugene Fernold says she is SO proud of her Elsie K Baglet & is looking forward to making another, but in cork this time! I had the opportunity to see this bag in person at the MAQF a few weeks ago and its even MORE beautiful in person!

Sheryl Kitamura is a teacher at a local Quilt Shop and she's so happy with her Katalina
that she plans on teaching it at her LQS in the very near future!

Ellen Fontaine said she had a good time choosing the design to embroider on the front of her OutBreaker (and doesn't this batik give the impression of being a beautiful vinyl)? Ellen already has another Outbreaker in the planning stage!

And here's another of Adriana Carter's favorites, a visually satisfying Go-Go Compact! And while you're at it, check out the impressive binding on this beauty!

And what a great way to end this showcase! This fantastic ErgoMatic was created with lightweight faux leather! It was posted on Instagram by @Sylviasquiltdepot who said the directions are easy to follow.

What's NEW in Sewing- Quilted Shoes

A fun trend has been popping up on Instagram with quilters taking the base and pattern from the SneakerKit, but instead of cutting and sewing in leather pieces, they are adding quilting pieces instead. The end result is vibrant, colorful and truly unique. (Evidently there were quite of these pairs of sneakers walking around Quilt Con last month)

Ditto, was recently unveiled at New York Fashion Week and is the first evolution of paper patterns since their invention in 1860. It's the first evolutionary step away from paper patterns since their invention in 1860, making it the first disruptive innovation in the 160-year history of the craft of sewing.
