So that we can keep the Society records up to date would you please let Carol know if any of your details have changed over the last year, namely:
- Home address
- Contact telephone number
- Email address
- Photo Honours
|
This is just a couple of housekeeping reminders:
- The Ladies/Disabled
WC: This has, in common with the other WCs, automatic lighting; the lighting is triggered by sensors picking up movement when you enter. One of the problems with the Ladies/Disabled WC is that we are not allowed to put automatic door closers on a disabled WC, this means that it is important that you close the door when leaving so that people passing in the corridor do not trigger the lights.
- Club Equipment: When using the studio (and any other facility) please ensure that all equipment you use is returned to is correct storage place as there is nobody designated to clear up after you.
- Air Conditioning/Heating: If you are using the clubrooms please note that you can heat or cool the clubroom using the air conditioning. The control for this is mounted on the pillar to the right of the studio area. Please note, you should only use the ON/OFF switch and NOT alter any of the setting controls beneath the hinged cover. The temperature is set at 22degC which we are advised is a suitable/comfortable ambient temperature. Make sure that you switch it off before you leave. Please do not attempt to use the wall mounted heaters in the Tea/Coffee area, these are turned off on the main fuse board and have only been installed as a "backup" in the event of the air conditioning packing up.

The Studio Group had a session at the clubrooms this week. It is not just the models who dress up, here you can see the model looking on in envy at one of Ashwin Chauhan's new shoes.

I have received the following which is self explanatory:
Hello, my name is Cat and I am a
Volunteering Officer at Alzheimer’s Society. I am contacting you because we
have a Befriending Service in Bristol that needs more volunteers to support
people with dementia continue with the activities they
love.
I
would love to speak to anyone that would like to share their hobbies and
interests to make a difference to people’s lives and can offer a regular weekday
commitment (between 9am-5pm, weekly or fortnightly). Our volunteers are fully
supported throughout their volunteering commitments and appropriate training
will be given.
If you
would be able to circulate the attached flyer or this email to the members of
your group, I would be really grateful. If your members are interested in
finding out more, the Befriending Manager, Emma, or myself, would be more than
happy to come to your group.
Many thanks for your
support.
Best wishes
Cat

Globe trotting Sue O'Connell has been chosen
as one of the finalists in this year's Travel Photographer of the Year competition -
this is for a portfolio of four travel images in the "Faces, People, Encounters"
category. This is not the first year that Sue has been short-listed in the prestigious competition and we wish her well in the final judging.

Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue. |
If you have something photographic that you want to sell, let me have the details and I will circulate them to a captive audience of photographers through the Newsletter - send to the usual address.
|
If you have anything you think other members would like to know about, such as exhibitions, special events etc. please let me know at newsletter@bristolphoto.org.uk
