Willie Dixon is one of the premiere song writer/musicians of the Chicago Blues era. He and Muddy Waters are recognized as the primary creators of the genre. As a producer and sideman at Chess Records Dixon performed with and or wrote for many of the giants of blues, rock and roll and folk including Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Bo Didley, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Jim Hendrix, Cream, Jeff Beck, Peter, Paul and Mary, Howling Wolf and even Bob Dylan covered a couple of his songs. Through this play, BLUES IS THE ROOTS, we are taken to a time that looks back at
his life and the formations of Chess Records with songs by Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Etta James, Koko Taylor and many more.
