Next week is the highlight of the BPS programme (I would say that, wouldn't I!) when we get to see the presentation of the 2016 Bristol Salon of Photography. This is the culmination of a year's work in putting together what is the largest digital exhibition of its type in the UK and is ranked among the top exhibitions in the world. Of just over 10,000 images submitted, panels of selectors accepted about a quarter; Andrew Marker and his team have put together about 900 of these to music to create an audio visual feast of some of the world's best digital images.

A warm welcome to new members: Antony Jenkins, Gary Clements and Nick Snell. |
I mentioned the sad death of past BPS member Beryl Horn in Issue 177. For those who'd like to attend, the funeral will be at 11.15am on Tuesday March 29 at Westbury on Trym Baptist Church in Reedley Road, W-O-T. |
An elderly gentleman... Had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%. The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, 'Your hearing is perfect.. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again.' The gentleman replied, 'Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations - I've changed my will three times!' |
Please don't forget that if you change your address or gain additional photographic distinctions it would be appreciated if you could let the Membership Secretary know so that she can keep her records up to date - please email all changes to membership@bristolphoto.org.uk |
For those of you who aren't sure what MPAGB, EFIAP/s and many more such seemingly random collections of letters mean, just click here to download the list. |
Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
