Hi,
I have just set up a new vinyl label called Mona Musique, an embodiment of the Mona parties I founded in Paris 8 years ago, bringing together Voguers, Waackers and club dancers to a soundtrack of Deep House, vintage Garage and classic Disco.
Here is the first release a 2 track EP called « Serving La Mona » featuring cuts by Hugo LX (My Love Is Underground, Courtesy of Balance) and Tim 2T. out in the shops on 8th October.

A 2-track EP of infectious groove, the first track comes from Tim 2T hailing from Lille, a budding producer who has offered up one stonker of a track reminiscent of New York’s Sound Factory circa 1993. Perfectly epitomising the Mona Musique sound, ‘Rue 32’ was the most requested track ID on Nick V’s Boiler Room session earlier this year and firmly cements Tim as one to watch.
On the flip side is ‘Drifting Away’ that comes from Hugo LX, Parisian Hip Hop beat maker who has recently turned his hand to House, to great effect, under the guidance of Nick V. Having already released on Chez Damier’s Courtesy of Balance this year, as well as production for Homeboy Sandman on Stones Throw, still to come is music on highly lauded My Love Is Underground.

Mona Musique is the new imprint from Nick V, curator and resident DJ behind longstanding night Mona. First and foremost the vinyl-only label will be an embodiment of the Parisian parties that have been bringing together Voguers, Waackers and club dancers for 8 years, no less. Equally inspired by and paying homage to the hedonism of Deep House, vintage Garage and classic Disco, Nick has shared the decks with originators of the calibre of Mike Huckaby and DJ Deep, to exemplary contemporary selectors such as Jeremy Underground, to a fresh wave of old skool energy in the form of Gary Gritness and D.KO records. Somewhat unique in its identity, form and energy, it’s not surprising Nick V and the Mona dancers were recently featured on Boiler Room TV, with special showcases at Concrete Paris, Rock en Seine Festival, Le Sucre Lyon and Prince Charles Berlin, all in the last few years.
