Let's kick this month off with this outstanding Triple Play by Pam Hayes who
said she wasn't quite sure she would like this color combination until
she got it all made up. I think it's VERY striking, don't you?
And Julie Holm of Australia made up this Baggalista to take on a holiday. She used a lightweight denim for the exterior along w/a Van Gogh-inspired print.
And in a notable departure from her usual theme, Cheryl Maass of Goodyear, AZ actually used something other than a butterfly print for this Quattro. And I gotta say, I've never seen dragons looking SO good as they do on this bag!
Jorji Boutte of California loved this fabric SO much that
never could cut it until she found the perfect pattern to show off its
beauty. This is Jorji's 2nd Quattro as she wore the 1st one out!
Next, here's a fun Wrapsody by Linda Sinasac. She said she had fun making this bag, and that she found the directions easy to follow! AND, I'll bet Linda's staying WAY more organized now!
And Randy Cooper said that the inspiration for this Quattro was the Don McLean song "Vincent". Her appliqué work on the front & back is lovely! The words on the back read as follows "the silver thorn of bloody rose lie crushed & broken on the virgin snow"... A famous line from that song! |
And Sherry Tankersley of Idaho Falls, ID tells me that this is the 5th Wrapsody she's made! I love the leather ties she used for zipper pulls. Just click HERE to see them. :)
Veronica Johnson of TAS, Australia told me that she substituted Soft & Stable for certain areas of fusible fleece for this Gadabout. This should really add to the life expectancy of this bag and besides that, it's beautiful!
And finally, since there's butterflies in the print, then it shouldn't surprise you that this beautiful Quattro was made up by Cheryl Maass of Goodyear, AZ. I love the little splash of teal on the side slash pockets!

Bunnie Cleland's business started by accident in 2013 when she arranged some triangles into
a quilting project and was prompted to translate her efforts into
patterns.
As a former Navy Electronics Technician,
she understands the importance of
precision and accuracy and
discovered she had the talent for translating
complex written directions
into easy-to-follow instructions. This aided Bunnie in the creation of
Triangle Frenzy's detailed, step-by-step
illustrations for experienced
beginners and intermediate level
quilters! And to think it all began when her Mom "dragged her to a Quilt Show"!

Cats in the News- Peanut the Squirrel
The Washington Post reported on the heartwarming story of Peanut, the family who rescued him, and his adoptive cat family. Chris DeBaets (of Vista, CA) found a baby squirrel in the street and brought him home. The baby’s fur was growing in but his eyes were not yet opened. He was cold and dehydrated. Chris’ wife Liz is a pediatrician, so she knew what needed to be done for the squirrel to help him thrive. The DeBaets’ cat Missy had given birth to a litter of six kittens a week earlier, so Liz removed Missy from the box with the kittens and placed the little squirrel inside. {Click HERE to read more}

One day a month artist Michael Swaine can be found on a San Francisco sidewalk using his vintage sewing machine with foot pedal to mend the holes in people’s clothes — all for free.
In 2002, the 34-year-old ceramics and textile artist began sewing-up pants, jackets, and shirts under an umbrella-topped cart, calling it his “Reap What You Sew Generosity Project.”
