1 Peter 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

YES THIS ROAD!

Our young daughter has recently developed a fear of the interstate highway system. Whenever we begin to merge onto an expressway, my wife and I hear a voice from the carseat in the back exclaim, "No this road!" It took us a little while to figure out what troubled her about it, but I think we've got it now. She associates such highways with long trips and whenever we head out on I-94 she figures she'll be stuck in her seat for at least the next three hours. She anticipates the ride will get uncomfortable and tiring even when it has barely begun; even if we are not going very far.

Sometimes the "ride" of life gets uncomfortable and tiring for us. We just want to say to God, "No this road!" When troubles annoy us and we see hardship rear its ugly head again and again we cry out and want the Lord to give us another path to follow. Just putting one foot in front of the other on life's road can be a challenge at times.

But thanks to Jesus our Savior, life's road has end -- and it is a happy end. Those who trust is Christ's promise to bestow on them the crown of eternal heaven will never be ashamed. Remember that the end of your faith is coming -- even the salvation of soul and body! To that we can say, "YES this road!"
