I have some holiday gifts for you!
I appreciate having you as a reader of my newsletter this year,
even if it's not the most fancy newsletter on the Internet.
I enjoy writing it and finding interesting stories for you to
read. And thanks to everyone who sent stories and ideas in this
year. So, I set up a special holiday page for you here:

http://www.theproblemcat.com/giftpage/

Feel free to share these links with your friends if you like,
but I will be taking the page down by the end of the year.

OK, I have some "homework" for you to do. I need some help
getting our new book recognized on Amazon, so here's what
I need you to do:

1. Go to this web site: http://www.amazon.com/dp/1480292559

2. Click on the orange "Like" button.

3. Leave a review if you can. If you have not bought the
book yet, you can click on Look Inside This Book and read
some of it and see what you think. Reviews don't need to
be long. I think Amazon says a minimum of 75 words is all
that's needed.

Thank you!

CAT FOOD NEWS
===================================

It's extremely difficult to find any commercial food now
that hasn't been on a recall list in the last 5 years.
Some are still on the lists. This month I am trying out
a couple of brands I haven't used before: Merrick's and
Natural Balance. Merrick's was recalled at one time, but
they seem OK now.

My cats are very clear on what they like, too. They like
Merrick's ("before grain") and have been ignoring the
Natural Balance. Of course they like the more expensive
one best.

Natural Balance has duck for the meat and peas for the veggies.
Neither brand has any grains in it. I'll keep you posted.

TAKE ACTION TO HELP ANIMALS IN NEED
===================================
These sites provide up to date information on how to help animals:

1. http://www.hipaws.com/help.html
Help feed the ones that never got adopted.

2. Victims of glue traps die of shock, dehydration, or blood
loss, and death can take days. SWEAR OFF glue traps:

3. It's going to be a long time rebuilding after
Hurricane Sandy. One way to help, which
is seldom thought of, is caring for the animals that
also have suffered the loss of their homes. If you
know someone, or are someone, in that area, consider
rounding up some foster homes for displaced pets:

Watch for your next issue of The Kitty Times in 2 weeks!

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

May all who are lost, be found. May all who are ill,
be well. May all in harm's way, be saved. May all
without homes, be loved.
