OFFICIAL SPEECH: NATIONAL SPEAKER OF SA PARLIAMENT ON ISRAELI APARTHEID & BDS

In this newsletter we recap some highlights from the recent 12th #IsraeliApartheidWeek camapign held in South Africa exactly a month ago between 7 and 13 March. The week long campaign included successful sports events, comedy shows, music concerts, protests, public lectures, seminars and much more.

This year's #IsraeliApartheidWeek included the hosting of the Speaker of the National Assembly and Former Deputy President of South Africa, Cde. Baleka Mbete (click here for her official IAW speech now published on the website of the South African Parliament).

We join the over 85 particiapting organisations across the country in celebrating the incredible sense of internationalism and solidarity expressed in last month’s IAW. The campaign affirmed South Africa’s support for the people of Palestine and we salute all groups, high-ranking politicians and government officials who participated.

NEW REPORT: EVIDENCE OF RACISM AND SEGREGATION AT ISRAELI HOSPITALS

The annual #IsraeliApartheidWeek campaign may have ended, however, sadly, Israeli Apartheid continues.

A new report was released last week by Israeli Army Radio documenting segregration and racism at Israeli hospitals. Click here for more information.

Israeli Apartheid requires our consistent and long-term activism, campaigning, boycotting, protest and lobbying. The non-violent boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign is based on the long-term, consistent and previously successful boycott of Apartheid South Africa. The internatioanl isolation played a significant role in challenging and ending South African Apartheid, BDS is proving to do the same in terms of Israeli Apartheid!
