Last week Adrian Recordings released 2 releases of fulfilled, needed and necessary escapism. On the Friday, October 27, genre-bending MANX releases her debut album "RECOUPIA" and last Wednesday, indie-jazzy Det enda bl.a.s, released the single "En speciell sorts trötthet", a first taste of their upcoming second EP.
Futuristic trip hop, meditative IDM, singer-songwriter, jazz and electronic pop are just a few words to describe the debut album "RECOUPIA" by MANX, which is out now.

MANX would like to spread out and refurnish - because, why not? Aside from musical influences such as Aphex Twin, Björk, Oklou and FKA twigs, MANX has the stomach to dance across several unexpected genres and takes inspiration from many corners of the world. She doesn't shy away from defying both pop culture frameworks as well as listener expectations. It's soulful pop mixed with the finest and twisted electronics.
"The song "SLF LV" is a musical waiting room on the record. The vibe is transitional periods when you're getting ready for a new chapter and need something kind and encouraging to dance to. A soundtrack from life's start menu", says MANX about the focus track and continues about the album: "During the pandemic, creation became my shelter full of nourishment. I want to tell stories through music. There are many of us who are lost and through my artistry I want to offer a ticket to the world of fantasy where everything is possible".
The Gothenburg producer and artist, Maria Lakatos, started the artist project MANX in 2019 after having, for many years, figured under the name "The Naima Train". Right from the start, the idea was to open up a space and create a world based of daydreams and heavy synesthesia. After recording her own music for many years, Maria has cultivated an originality that now lives as an ingrained DNA in MANX, and the music has been noticed by American Earmilk and some of the biggest music media in Sweden such as GAFFA, Nöjesguiden, HYMN, Djungeltrumman and Sweden's Radio P3.

With one foot in indie pop bands like David & the Citizens, Björns vänner and Den svenska tysnaden and the other in jazz and Hederosgruppen-fame, Adrian Recordings artist, the instrumental, Det enda bl.a., creates a completely unique intersection of something you think you recognise but then lose. Now they have released a brand new single called "En speciell sorts trötthet” taken from their second upcoming EP that will be called simply ”EP2”, due to release November 10th.
