ELEANOR BURKE
Sketching San Francisco's Neighborhoods
Thursday, September 22 at 7 PM
Meet Eleanor Burke, a lifetime SF resident who grew up on Jackson Street in Presidio Heights. She has lived in seven of the city's neighborhoods, and, a few years ago, sketched architectural highlights of Russian Hill and published a small guide to the neighborhood.
After retiring as a high school English teacher, Burke decided to expand her horizons and take on the rest of the city. With a motor scooter and a camera, she set out to explore - and the result is her delightful new book full of sketches of everything she saw.
