Informal Poll Regarding A Townwide, Curbside recycling program:
Would you be interested in a curbside recycling program????   Options are being looked at for a Townwide curbside recycling program, much like most municipalities along the Wasatch Front (and throughout the state and country) participate in.

Details are still in their infancy, but we would likely have a blue can similar in size to the current Trash cans we now use.  Pickup would probably be every other week on the normal trash pickup day, and we could put all recyclables in the same can (no sorting).  This would probably include paper, cardboard, cans and plastic (possibly glass).

For those currently paying for two or more cans, you could probably cut back to one can while saving the extra can fee.

Here is the magic question:

How much are you willing to pay for this program?

   a)  Nothing - I absolutely do not want to recycle

   b)  $2/month

   c)  $4/month

   d)  $6/month

   e)  $8 or more per month

Landfill Changes:
There have been some significant changes this year at "the DUMP" (Now the Green Waste Disposal Facility, but more affectionately and forever known as the dump)...

Perhaps the biggest change is that we are conducting a test by allowing users throughout the Valley the opportunity to dump their green waste at the Huntsville Green Waste Disposal Facility.

Out of town users will pay a bit more than those within the boundaries of incorporated Huntsville Town, but with the dump card they will essentially get one free day of dumping (5 days for the price of 4).

Out of town users will pay $10/load for a single axle truck or trailer, or $40/ton.  Since there is no scale, the dump manager will estimate the size of the load, and the dump employee will have the final say.

Out of town users may purchase a five punch dump pass for $40.  The pass can be used from year to year, but is not transferable.  Additionally, the pass gives you five days of dumping, not just five loads.
