11/30/22

Busy day at FHS!
10th graders went to the CTC to explore the opportunities out there.

We sent about 40 students on a college visit to GVSU.

We continue with the Shop With a Cop Penny War through Friday.

Seniors will get their exam waivers they earned from last year's SAT/MME exam.

I will be working with government classes today and tomorrow. The classes have spent a few weeks engaged in mock legislatures. They have put forth new "laws" (school changes and rules) for me to approve or veto. While we aren't a democracy and I don't hold the same power as the President when it comes to approving rules or changes, it is as close as we can get to the real thing. Last year, the students moved four bills through their legislature and I recommended two to be approved (which they were). It is a fun opportunity and a chance for me to connect with the students.

Be Well,
Scott Sherman
