"If I can help somebody as I pass along, if I can cheer somebody with a word or a song, if I can show somebody he's traveling wrong, then my living will not be in vain."

THE RANGER REPORT  JUNE 8, 2020-  The Official Newsletter Of The Mighty Manatees Medicine Show   "Celebrating 34 Years of Everyday Music for Everyday People"

Greetings.  I hope you are all doing well and staying safe during this Covid-19 pandemic that is currently infecting 20,000 Americans a day.  Please be smart.  We have many fans but none to spare.

A derecho storm tore through our area last Wednesday and we were without power for a few days.  That is the reason we're sending out this Ranger Report a little later this month.

WYATT & MEENAL GET MARRIED!  -  We are delighted to announce the recent marriage of my son Wyatt and his fiance Meenal!  We wish them a long life of love and we'll all celebrate together when things get safer.  (They live in Brooklyn!)

LIVE! ON THE LANE (EPISODE THREE)  -  Thanks to everyone who watched our live stream show last month.  It continues to be a learning experience (!)  We will be airing our next fun-filled episode on SATURDAY, JUNE 27, @ 8:00 PM EST.  w/ Special musical guests, cartoons, accordions, and more!  This is a free, all ages, event.  Just go to The Mighty Manatees Band page on Facebook, or Instagram@themightymanatees.  "Turn off your mind, relax, and watch live stream..."

CHARLIE PHILLIPS IS MOVING!  -  We wish it wasn't true!  Charlie and his family are pulling up stakes and moving west to sunny southern California.  Charlie's sunny disposition and musicianship will be sorely missed by our Mighty Manatees family.  But before he goes, Charlie will be doing a live stream show this Tuesday night, June 9, at 7:30 PM EST, on his Charlie Phillips Facebook page.  Let's all bid him a fond adieu.

MANATEES FUN FACT  -  Did you know that Charlie Phillips recorded at Karl "K-Jo" Frick's Lakestone Studio earlier this year?  It's true!  He played sitar and electric tamboura on a song of mine.

VIDEO CLIP OF THE MONTH  -  This month's clip is called "A Portrait Of Neal Cassady In Words & Music" featuring longtime Mighty Manatees friend and collaborator Brian Hassett reading the recollections of 25 people who knew the transcendent Neal Cassady.  Brian will be accompanied by legendary musician and sometime-Manatees stagemate David Amram.  Brian and David are joined by Merry Prankster George Walker, Hog Farmer Wavy Gravy, and Mary Microgram!  https://youtu.be/CNHWb3wy0qQ
