Wednesday 1 March

Important: Meeting will start at 7.15pm
This is because Rod Whelans, who organises the Masters of Print competition is coming to BPS to present the Society with the Gold Club Award.

Following the presentation, we have the main event of the evening, a sort of "buy one, get one free", when we welcome BPS members Sue O'Connell FIPF ARPS EFIAP/d3 DPAGB ABPE and Peter Brisley ARPS DPAGB BPE 2* EFIAP.

Since joining BPS as rookies back in the early noughties, and making their first tentative entries into club competitions, Sue and Peter have gone on to gain distinctions and awards, becoming busy speakers and judges, both at home and abroad. Just shows what BPS membership can do for you!
Over the years they have photographed in many remote places in a wide range of genres, but above all, they enjoy engaging with, and photographing people.

Sue's work has been shown in a number of exhibitions, including (memorably!) the Travel Photographer of the Year at the Royal Geographic Society. In tonight's presentation. TRAVELS in ETHIOPIA + My Journey To an FIPF, she will talk about the most challenging trip to date, and look at how images of Ethiopian tribespeople were developed into a successful F Panel for the Irish Photographic Federation.

Peter's path has taken him away from competitions and salons in pursuit of his own individual style. Miscellany, his latest PRINT talk, is a free-wheeling whistle-stop tour reflecting his interests in a wide variety of subject matter including architecture, abstractions, and impressions of Japan, with a few surprises along the way!

Photographer Wanted
A photographer needed to take photos of a dress rehearsal of a musical. The dress rehearsal will be on the 21st March in the afternoon. Would need the photographer to be available at the venue (The Alma Tavern, Bristol) from 12pm till around 4pm. To take as many pictures of the dress rehearsal.

Unfortunately because we're a small theatre company on a really tight budget we can't afford to pay you but we will give you a complimentary ticket to the show on the performance of your choice.
