Larry Gatlin was the host for the evening. Before bringing Wade on stage he commented to the audience that Wade was a "homely old boy," but he had a good personality. At the end of Wade's segment, expanded, "I wish I was 6'3" and looked like that .... so does my wife." Larry was a funny entertaining host. The show also included Mel Tillis and his daughter Pam, as well as Lynn Anderson.
