The European Movement is hosting a speech by the Minister for Europe, the Rt Hon David Lidington MP, in Oxford on 22 June 2012. The Minister will speak about Britain’s ambitions in Europe.
At a time of economic crisis across the European continent Britain’s membership of the EU is as important as ever, if we are to influence the way the EU as a whole can return to growth. Considering the extent to which our economy is part of the EU’s and how much our prosperity depends on the wellbeing of the European Union, Britain needs to remain an engaged and constructive player.
In this context the Minister will speak about Britain's relationship with the EU and what the coalition government hopes to achieve in the next three years.
