Visit to Steve Russell Studios, Stroud
Following Steve’s very successful and interesting presentation a few weeks ago, I have managed to book a private visit for BPS members to his studio in Stroud on Saturday 21 January 2023. Steve will be demonstrating his Photogrammetry rig as well as many of the aspects of commercial photographic production. More details will be in the newsletter nearer the time so put this date in your diary!

The following is the "end of term report" for this year's Photography Course.
The course ended last week after eleven weeks of talks and trips to various Bristol venues for photo shoots, putting into practice what had been taught. We have included a few pictures to illustrate the results.
We had a picture review on the final night, The Hotwells Houses was selected as top. The other two are to illustrate the variety entered.

There were 40 pictures in the final review. We had 19 participants on the course this year, which is gradually going up after Covid.
Thanks go out to the team of BPS members who contributed to the running of the course:
Matt de-Beger, Steve Taylor, Pete McCloskey, Mike Martin, Graham & Mary Pears, Derwood Pamphilon, John Hudson, Peter Smith, Derek Hickey and Jenny Morris.

By the time you read this newsletter the new Clean Air Zone will almost be upon us. This is likely to affect members who live south of the river most as it will be necessary to cross it when travelling to Unit 13, but it will probably affect all members with "dirty" cars at some time or other.
If you haven't already done it, you can check if your vehicle will be affected by following this link.
Below is a map showing the zone and BPS in relation to the Zone.

Salon acceptances:
Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
|
If you have any photographic items for sale, drop me a line and I'll include it in the next newsletter. Please make sure that you provide contact details, price and full description of the sale items (pictures always help). |
IMPORTANT: Personal Detail Changes |
Please don't forget that if you change your address (home or email), or gain additional photographic distinctions, it would be appreciated if you could let the Membership Secretary know so that she can keep her records up to date, this will also ensure that you continue to receive your newsletters - please email all changes to membership@bristolphoto.org.uk.
The distinctions we have on record are those shown at the top of this newsletter, please remember, if you don't tell us we can't possibly know!
