Hello Firstname

Wednesday 12 October
Next Wednesday, 12 September, we have a visit from Terry Wall EFIAP/p DPAGB from across the bridge in the Forest of Dean A Walk Around Hungary & Bulgaria. Armchair travel exploring the wildlife of Great Hungarian Plains and beautiful Bulgaria where Bea-eaters and butterflies abound. For information on Terry (& his partner Wendy Conway) vist his website by clicking here.

Digital Imaging Group
Monday 10 October is the monthly meeting of the DI Group. This month Ashwin is away sunning himself in India so he has left the meeting in the capable hands of the two Mikes (Bigger and Bews). Mike Bews will be front of house with Mike Bigger ably assisting with the technical aspects. The meeting will take the usual format with all members being welcome, especially those who bring along pictures for the assembled masses to see, either prints or jpegs on USB memory sticks.
Mike Bews assures me that Ashwin has left a secret stash of chocolate ebiscuits for the evening

Studio - Booking Fee Increase

Another Member Hits the Front Page
Following my report a couple of weeks ago on the front page image of The Croquet Gazette by Phil Girdlestone. Another member, Mark Gilbert, has hit the dizzy heights of the front page of a magazine, this time it's the magazine of the Lotus 7 owners club - Low Flying. Not content with producing the cover photo, Mark built the car featured back in 1992 and is still driving it today.

Sorry about the short notice!
Tomorrow (Saturday) Calumet announce a special experience day for Calumet run by the X-Ambassador, Damien Lovegrove in partnership with Fujifilm and their new X-T2 digital camera.
Damien will be running a morning and an afternoon session where he will take you through the essential steps he uses to create portraits with intimacy and movement.
The essence of the session is to be as practical as possible and there will be plenty of X-T2 cameras and the full range of lenses available to use.  There will be a practical demonstration showing his unique lighting styles using the latest studio flash kit. Damien will show his workflow and post production techniques he uses to maximise the files from the Fujifilm X-Trans sensor.
Throughout the session Damien will be showcasing the Fujifilm X-series cameras and lenses and will work in the studio with Bowens lighting equipment. After the session there will be an opportunity to discuss anything with Damien, our experienced staff members and Fujifilm product specialists on any questions that you may have about photography and the equipment available.
Full details here. Our own Mike Bigger will be in attendance to let you in if you don't already have a ticket.

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
Mike Bews has won a Ribbon in the El Argentino Salon for a speedway shot called Excitement on the bend, this is yet another successful image from the BPS trip to Somerset Rebels' Speedway meeting in July.

Salon acceptances: BPS photographers are now achieving large numbers of salon acceptances and constraints on time and space mean we can't include them all. So please only advise of awards or other milestones.

Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
