Your race pack has been posted, unless otherwise indicated to us, you should receive it soon. As a first action, please check that your number and chip correspond to the number on your address label. Please contact us if there is a problem. Resist opening the envelope with the chip in it until you arrive at the race, as once removed there is no way of identifying individual chips.
You will also have received an information brochure. This will give you the location of car parks within the town centre and there will be marshals there to guide you in the direction of the start. Please note that there is no parking at Cantley Park, but a 10 minute walk will loosen you up for the race. Wokingham Borough Council have now imposed a £1 charge on a Sunday, so please remember to have the change with you.
There are several road works in and around the town, please leave extra time for your journey.
Please remember to bring your number and chip as a replacement will cost you £5 on the day. If you do have a problem please go to the information tent in the runners village which will be clearly sign posted. Also, remember to complete the personal details section on the back of your number.
If you cannot run the race please return the chip in its' pre-paid envelope to Sport Systems. Chips that are not returned will incur a £5 charge. Please do not pass your number on to another runner, as this can can be highly dangerous, as we found out last year and will lead to disqualification.
We are not giving refunds or allowing deferments to 2018, however we will allow a transfer of your number to another runner of the same gender at a cost of £5, unitl a cut off point of the 3rd February. Contact us by email for details at firstname.lastname@example.org
We are keeping an eye on the weather as this affects not only you runners but also the marshals who are on station for up to five hours. We will post details on the website and endeavour to send out emails if there are any problems. You can check the weather forecast here: www.wokinghamhalfmarathon.co.uk/html/weather.html
Each marshal point will have plastic sacks. Please leave your rubbish with them as you pass as this will help greatly improve our relations with the residents, who can get quite cross.
Finally, if you wish to enter the Berkshire Championship for this race, please go to their website www.berkshireathletics.org.uk and follow the instructions.
Once again thanks for entering and we look forward to seeing you on the 12th February.
Peter Evans. Chairman of the Organising Committee.
