*The Coalition was the only private school group that challenged the Department of Health last year when they pushed to expand regulations that could have cost schools tens of thousands of dollars. Then the Coalition convened a working meeting with Department of Health, Department of Education and other private school stakeholders and made suggestions that have been used to update the codes without the huge fiscal impact.
*The Coalition spearheaded the development of legislation to allow children on 504 plans access to the McKay Scholarship. The Coalition Board spent weeks working with the legislators and other stakeholders to help create this expansion of the McKay Scholarship and the bill passed.
*The Coalition is working with The Choice Office to develop guidelines for McKay students who are 18-22 years old. This has been a very confusing area and students have lost their scholarships due to misunderstanding of what must be done to continue utilizing the McKay Scholarship once a student becomes 18 years old. This information will be sent directly to member schools in the next few weeks.
