Colossians 2:13-14 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.

EVERY OBSTACLE REMOVED

2006 offers us a new year of life in which to face the same old obstacles over again, and maybe a few new ones. But Christ gives us spiritual life, and guarantees our victory over this world by taking all obstacles out of our way. Of course, He started us down the path to victory when He removed the greatest obstacle that stood against us. The record of our sin.

Instead of a long scroll of new years resolutions, imagine a list of your sins. Every one. Every evil thought. Every lust. Every lie. Every job poorly done. Every promise un-kept. All recorded. All listed, with your name written clearly at the top.

This is what stood against you. Though it was posted, you have nothing to fear. This record of your wrongs will never be read. For it was posted on the cross of Christ, behind His nail pierced hand. The record of your sins is unreadable. For the blood of Jesus has flowed down over that handwriting, covering each sin. Washing their record away.

When you look back on the past year, you shouldn't see the record of your sins. They're gone. If you do, it's just a mirage. Your sins are forgiven in Christ. All of them. Period. In Christ, all that could ever stand against you is removed. In Christ, God gives us a fresh start. Not just once a year, but every minute of every day!
