Hello Firstname

Wednesday 8 October
Next Wednesday we have a return visit by Viveca Koh FRPS when she will give her talk called iPhotography to Photo Illustrations - My Continuing Journey. Viveca will discuss her use of an iPhone to take photographs, leading up to the separate challenge of illustrating a book of poetry and prose in which images become more abstract. Last time she talked about her passion for "urban exploration" which involved photographing derelict urban buildings, which despite its unpromising subject, turned out to be one of the most interesting evenings of the year. For more information about Viveca and her photography, visit her website or you can also visit her Blog where you can read more about her and what she's up to now.

Projected Image Competition - Round 1
Last Wednesday saw the opening of the 2014-2015 competition season with Round 1 of the Projected Image competition. The competition was judged by Graham Hodgkiss ARPS MPAGB APAGB AFIAP; unfortunately Graham had to "retire hurt" at the tea break as he was unwell and had to go home. Despite not feeling well, Graham had given an entertaining and informative critique of the images, however Barry Mead stepped into the breech for the second half and gave his own comments on the remaining images, although this did not affect the results (made by Graham). The final placings are shown below together with the league table at the end of the Round:

The exhibition is open until next Sunday (12 October). Many of you will be familiar with the subtle seascapes that Keith produces; well, Ira manages to create equally as beautiful and subtle 'scapes as Keith, but using the medium of textiles - you can see here, where Keith gets it from!.
