1. Wealthy Cats

You don't have to adopt your mom's (or dad's) cats when they can no longer care for them...or pass away. But arranging for their future can make or break a happy family relationship. If you promise to care for their pets, be sure you mean it, and plan to carry out their wishes. Here's what can happen when you don't:

A wealthy woman in China decided to leave her $2.8m fortune to her pets, and nothing to her three children.

The woman, from Shanghai, decided to cut her children out of her will because she felt they neglected her in her old age and did not visit when she was ill, the South China Morning Post reported, citing Zonglan News.

Since it is not legal in China to leave money directly to animals, a local veterinary clinic will be responsible for the pets and administer the inheritance as they care for her dogs, cats, and their offspring.
